Toronto Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Meeting Against defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team advanced to their initial World Series since 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.

Trailing 3-1, the star outfielder hit a three-run home run in the seventh, propelling the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 series win in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, who are the reigning title, in the forthcoming championship.

"It's incredible for this squad, our city, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "What an unbelievable moment."

George Springer has now hit twenty-three playoff homers, making him third on the list behind Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I want up in that spot besides George Springer with his playoff prowess," remarked Schneider.

The Mariners, despite leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the one club that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Manager Dan Wilson said "certainly that it hurts" after his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but commended their efforts this season.

"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the losing end of this game," he continued.

The Blue Jays secured the championship on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
