Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Candidates

Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the early candidates under consideration to succeed Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday after the squad's ten-game winless start to the top-flight campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic links to the club - are among the names to be considered by the Wolves leadership.

Edwards is presently at another club, which would pose a potential hurdle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton Town head coach - who played over a century of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is said to be a strong contender for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is said to have support from the Wolves board as they start the search of hiring a new manager.

Gary O'Neil is additionally emerging as a unexpected candidate, even though he would be a shock appointment considering he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham player is out of work meaning the club would not be required to provide any compensation.
