'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Families of Unaccounted For Young People Await News After Ski Resort Fire
The relatives of teenagers missing after a tragic fire at a bar in a Swiss alpine town are enduring an painful wait for answers and requesting any details about their loved ones publicly.
The blaze ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Verified video show the roof structure being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.
Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the those who perished of the disaster, which killed numerous partygoers and hurt another scores more. Officials stated on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to locate the other six.
In the waiting period, loved ones have been using the internet to plead for clues about their friends who were present at the venue that night.
Appeals for the Unaccounted For

"It feels like a terrible dream, a horror. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in critical condition. It's horrific," she told the paper.
She added that some of his friends had been discovered with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured an absolute nightmare."
The Italian government has confirmed that a number of of its nationals have not been located.
Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Genoa but now living in Dubai.
The national sporting body has released a tribute that he is dead, without directly referencing the fire, paying tribute to a "young athlete who represented dedication and true sportsmanship."
His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An official spokesperson has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is awaited.
Other Missing Individuals
Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His mother told reporters that he had been on vacation but had gone out with friends and ended up at the venue.
"A companion told me they fled after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.
One of his teachers stated, "I've always been struck by his good nature and positive demeanor, coupled with great responsibility. Every time offer to get me a coffee."
Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also at the bar on that night, according to reports.
Her sibling has posted an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
