David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
