Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
